Welcome to the 11th year of Living Statues! This is an annual family-friendly event that offers a unique and inspirational environment within which the public is invited to sketch, photograph, paint, or otherwise immortalize a group of talented Ballet Wichita dancers. The dancers perform a series of short interpretive tableaux throughout the evening, coordinated by a soundtrack composed specifically for the event by a local musician: this year we’re very happy to welcome back Georgia Andersen, the composer of some of our most memorable Living Statues events over the years.

This year, we’re shaking it up a bit…not only painting the dancers, but painting ON the dancers! From 7-8pm, nine fabulous Wichita artists will create their own works of art on nine dancers wearing white unitards, then those dancers will pose from 8-10. A bigbig thanks to the following for sharing their unique skills with us:

Richard Davies
Patrick Duegaw
Rebecca Hoyer
Casey Joy
Jennifer Larsen
Hallie Linnebur
Malissa Long
Meghan Miller
Carlos Palomino

The audience is welcome to bring their own drawing materials, but we will also have paper and various drawing implements available courtesy of Lawrence Photo.
