First Friday, May 5. The dancers will pose from 7:30-9:30PM, doors open at 7.
After 3 long years, Living Statues is back! This is an annual family-friendly event that offers a unique and inspirational environment within which the public is invited to sketch, photograph, paint, or otherwise immortalize a group of talented Ballet Wichita dancers. The dancers perform a series of short interpretive tableaux throughout the evening, coordinated by a soundtrack composed specifically for the event by a local musician. This year we’re excited to shake it up with some original live music: our spring resident artist Nick Jaina will be premiering new work as a part of his Spektrum Tea Service project.
The audience is welcome to bring their own drawing materials, but we will also have paper and various drawing implements available courtesy of Lawrence Photo.
