Powering the Arts

May 2018 UPDATE!

We put up a new sign, designed by local graphic designer Carlos Palomino, this time with a kitchy 60s intergalactic travel look. Now the turbine is running a space craft! And, unexpected bonus: whoever painted the graffiti in the foreground was clearly inspired by our color palette and thoughtful enough to coordinate.

Emprise Bank is now literally powering the arts in Wichita!  You may have noticed a new mural on the south side of our building in spring of 2016, thanking Emprise Bank for their continued support of our art organization, as well as the endless list of other Kansas orgs that benefit from their extraordinary generosity, but on July 28, 2016 the final element was installed:  a working turbine designed and built by Fisch Haus artist Eric Schmidt.  One of our long-term goals has always been to create our own energy, and this turbine is the first step in that process.  Plus, it's a beautiful object and a unique one:  engineered using Eric's patent-protected technology, it puts into practice several of his new theories and experiments.  Stay tuned for more updates as Eric refines and develops his progressively unconventional ideas!

A big thank you to everyone who has helped to make this happen!
