In its sixth year, Living Statues offers a unique and inspirational environment within which the public is invited to sketch, photograph, paint, or otherwise immortalize a group of talented Ballet Wichita dancers.  The dancers will perform a series of short interpretive tableaux throughout the evening, coordinated by a soundtrack composed specifically for the event.

Back by popular demand, 2014’s composer/dj team will again be Jedd Beaudoin, host of KMUW’s Strange Currency, and Torin and Georgia Andersen, local musician powercouple.  To shake things up a bit this year, there will be a live performance element as well:  living statues and djs!  They’re pulling in some other local superstars as well–look forward to appearances by Tatsuya Hidano, Susan Mayo, Mike Unruh and perhaps even a few others!

Artists and visitors are invited to use this opportunity to record these three to five minute poses.  Everyone is welcome to bring their own drawing materials, but Bluebird Arthouse will be on hand, in a pop-up shop in our front room, to furnish whatever your masterpiece requires!

Photos of this, and past Living Statues events, are available on our facebook page, at facebook.com/fischhaus.
